Crossing the Threshold With Faith, Hope and Love

CROSSING THE THRESHOLD

With Faith, Hope and Love

June 6, 2026

“'But how did you find your way to me?' persisted Curdie.

'I told you already,' answered Irene; 'by keeping my finger upon my grandmother's thread, as I am doing now.'”

—The Princess and the Goblin, George MacDonald

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you asked to be kept in the loop as we move forward in this wonderful adventure the Lord has been so merciful to invite us into.

Thanks to the goodness and help of our dear friends, family and community, our family successfully moved out of our apartment in Camarillo on Monday, June 1. Nick was able to schedule a much-needed surgery at St. John’s Hospital for the very next day—it was truly a providential gift as our insurance would run out at the end of the month! (he is resting and recovering well, thanks be to God!)

We will spend the next couple of months visiting family and friends as we prepare for our voyage into Austria.

We’ve been asked if we are excited about our move. There is excitement present, but primarily a reverent and silent awe in the heart. I’ve been pondering the imagery from The Princess and the Goblin: of the thread that united little princess Irene to her great-great-Grandmother while miraculously guiding her through great peril to eventually bringing her and Curdie into safety.

Standing before this mysterious threshold, we don’t know exactly what awaits. Looking back into our lives, I see the thread of God’s Providence, His Tenderness, His Protection, His Strength, His Light, and His Merciful Love that has led us through so many “dangers, toils, and snares”, through joys and sorrows, through grace and wonders, and through many unknowns into this very place.

We may not know exactly what lies ahead, but we know WHO walks with us—the One who Himself is the WAY. He is the One that awaits us as we cross that threshold, “the One in whom we have put our trust” (2 Tim 1:12).

With love and prayers,
